Chelsea Freeland

NAUI Divemaster,
Underwater Archaeologist

Chelsea is an underwater archaeologist and general water enthusiast. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2014 with an MA in Maritime Studies, and a passion for SCUBA. She just recently got back from an archaeological excavation in Dubai, surveying an Iron Age site from 3,000 BCE - lots of sand, but not a lot of water out there in the desert.

She’s only been diving for 3 years but is a NAUI Divemaster and has training in black water, full face mask, drysuit, nitrox, and was certified as an AAUS Scientific Diver in grad school. Her favorite place to dive so far has been Lake Huron, up by Thunder Bay, MI - but next time she goes, she’s taking a drysuit. The next place on her bucket list is Sharm el-Sheikh on the Red Sea in Egypt!
