Born in Sydney, Australia, and introduced to diving by her dad at 12 years old on the Great Barrier Reef. At 19, she was properly introduced to the sport on the Gold Coast, and certified through a small local shop owner. Her instructor was a retired commercial abalone diver with a passion for wreck hunting. From there she fell in love with the underwater world.
Emma became an instructor in 2007. Longing to travel the world, she spent 8 months living in a thatched hut on a remote island in Fiji with Frontier, a marine conservation organization.
From there, she found herself working alongside Bahamian pirates on "Blackbeard's Liveaboards." It was there where she met Atlantis Divers for the first time, and the waves of destiny washed her ashore in Powhatan, Virginia.
